School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Step 1: Reagan students who plan to apply to SAIC will develop a SAIC-specific tab on their personal website, which will house their submission materials.
Step 2: The student will need complete the Common Application prior to January 15th. They will select SAIC in the Common Application as a school they will be applying to.
Step 3: The student after completing the Common Application will receive a link to slideroom where they will upload their portfolio and artists statement. The Portfolio will consist of 10–15 of their best and most recent works. Use your portfolio to showcase your interests, skills, and creative potential. You may show work created across media or focus entirely in one medium. Work can range from observational to abstract. There are no media-specific limitations. Use your statement as your way to represent yourself and your work. They are interested in finding out more about you, your art-making practices, and why you are a strong candidate
Step 4: The student will submit their transcripts and the results of either an ACT or SAT Examination. These can be sent to 36 S. Wabash Ave Ste. 1201 Chicago, IL 60603 or [email protected]
Step 5: The student will request a letter of recommendation from either a Reagan faculty or counselor. This letter can be sent to 36 S. Wabash Ave Ste. 1201 Chicago, IL 60603 or [email protected]
Once all of these steps have been completed SAIC will review this material for admissions and scholarship consideration. Please contact Travis Tiblier ([email protected]) with any and all questions.
